The Long Island Claims Association since its inception has become known for hosting quality educational workshops for its members and the insurance community. Covering topics that included Labor Law, Broker Relations, Understanding Captive Programs, Self-Insurance, Technology, and more, we were proud to cater to audiences that at times were standing room only. Originally hosted at the conference center below the former Jewel restaurant and later at the incredible facilities in Happaugue, the workshops were both a venue for education as well as networking with your fellow industry professionals.
For the majority of this year, we searched for a venue that represented our organization, had the ability to handle our capacity, and provide the experience to our members and guests that our board prides itself on delivering.
We are pleased to have found our new home at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Melville, NY! Our new home is centrally located on Route 110 close to the major parkways and down the road from Long Island's Insurance hub. Today, November 30, 2022, we were pleased to kick off our return to in-person workshops.
Jeffrey Miller and John Tambascia of Pillinger, Miller, Tarrallo, LLC lead off our lunch workshop with an informative and entertaining discussion on "Successful Mediation". Followed by James Borkowski of National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) discussing "What Happens in The Breakout Room".
It was a great way for LICA to end 2022! Thank you to our board members Catia Alati and Felice Balkin for helping to get our series back on track. Also thank you to Lockton who sponsored our comeback workshop. We look forward to 2023 and our return to quarterly workshops for our members.
